Drawing for me is a way to pour out my feelings and give them life at the same time: just like people keep a diary for personal notes and daily thoughts, in this artbook I assembled a small collection of faces, characters, sketches, which were triggered by my feelings, interests and passions. It is an inward look on what goes through my mind and my heart, and I hope you enjoy it and can relate to it.
Author
My name is Silvia and I was born in Florence in 1997.
I consider myself to be a very sensitive person: this brings me to see drawing as a means to express my feelings and my interests for all the aspects of human nature.
Besides art, the other things I love the most are my dog Maya, the ocean and music.
My drawings are often inspired by a song I hear, by its lyrics or its melody: I associate almost every drawing I make to a verse that had an impact on me.
Drawing has been my true passion since forever; like many young artists I too enjoyed messing around with colors and pencils. Being a greatly introverted girl, I’ve always approached drawing as a spontaneous way to express myself, without fears of any kind: for this reason I’ve always dreamed of going to an art school when I would eventually grow up, also because of the various disciplines I was interested in, like comics, fashion design and traditional painting. The art high school I attended allowed me to develop a passion for many art forms: I eventually graduated in advertising graphics, but even though I found it an interesting field, because of all the techniques and tools used to communicate through the use of images, I felt the need to approach another art form that would allow me to design and illustrate characters, and follow my love for drawing traditionally.
